4 Incredible Islands to See While in Venice
"...best described as Heaven on Earth."
I spent 3 weeks exploring Venice and its outskirts. These 4 Islands are a must see if you find yourself in Venice for more than a day!
1. The Lido
The Lido is best described as Heaven on Earth. This island is so peaceful it feels like a dream. Take the water boat from Venice and spend the day on exploring the island by moped! Check out the beautiful canals, restaurants, and of coarse, the beach!
The beautiful island of Murano seemed to be full of creative glass artists with small shops and galleries. If you love to bring home souvenirs for your friends and family, this is a great place to venture to!
If you're going out to Murano, there's no sense in stopping there. There's a striking island full of colorful homes and shops just a boat ride away. The locals in Burano mostly have small businesses making lace products such as scarfs and hats.
This was the one place I didn't get to see that I really wish I had. You can take the water boat across the lagoon to The Church of San Giorgio Maggiore and check out the view of Venice from the top of the church!
